Guest guest
Hi, The past several days have been wonderful. I stopped Plumicort inhaler, and my asthma symptoms are completely gone, as predicted by Dr. Katz. He thought the my asthma before surgery was due to fluid getting in my lungs at night from a backed-up esophagus. All food is clearing my esophagus now, and I can even eat dinner with my husband at 8 pm. I can eat potato chips at 9 pm. I have had no reflux whatsoever, even when I eat spicy cajun or creole food. The unexpected benefit in addition to being able to swallow and sleep is that I can smell delicate fragrances. I just enjoy smelling air now. I spent several hours hiking around Longwood Gardens today smelling everything. I feel like an alien who just landed on Earth and cannot believe the incredible beauty of what earthlings think is ordinary. I am so happy to be alive. My followup appointment with Dr. Katz has been rescheduled for after labor day because it will be impossible to go anywhere in New York City during the convention next week. After the followup appointment, I expect to return to work fulltime. This weekend, my husband and I are driving out to Ohio to pick up a 2-month Irish setter puppy who will join our family. Good luck to everyone with upcoming surgeries. Surgery was the right decision for me, but like the rest of you, I am glad I was so picky about my surgeon. Guest guest
--- Welcome to the post surgical group!! Yey! Good for you. Hope you continue to do well. I am almost 3 months post and am doing fine. I have had an occasional stuckage but that was definitely due to my eating things fast (couldn't do that before) and forgetting the water. I keep forgetting that I still have " A " and don't have any peristalsis. But I am so glad that I CAN forget. That is the best side effect of this surgery, that you can almost be like before with a few exceptions. Anyway, keep having fun and enjoy your rebirth! Jo from South Florida, who was cuckoo enough to get a new pug puppy this past week. I have collected one husband, two school age kids, a 2-year old labrador retriever who thinks she is a lap dog, a new pug puppy, and title of community house with no less than 10 kids a day! I love my life! Thank you Lord! In achalasia , " ginnyfamily2004 " <ginnyfamily2004@y...> wrote: > Hi, > The past several days have been wonderful.
