Oh boy don't tell me you still have bad days after

surgery! I'm kinda hoping it will get better. They

gave my husband regland for a hiatial hernia. It

really does the trick for when the spasms start or I

can't get food down. It is supposed to relax

everything enough for the muscles to work. Have to

admit it does make me feel better when I feel a spasm

coming on or just a tight fullness.

Sorry I haven't posted again. Got alittle upset at one

of the posts that insinuated I was crazy for taking

this drug. Maybe it doesn't work for some people or it

has different side effects. All I know is my husband

has been taking it for years for his hiatal hernia and

I have been taking it for over a year. It stops my

spasms and it helps me eat which is all I care about.

I take prilosac to reduce the acid in my stomach which

comes up into my throat whenever I bend over. Guess my

valve is really in bad shape cuz it won't open and

close properly.

I have a lot of scar tissue in my esophogues from the

hernia and reflux. I think that may be one of the

reasons it took so long to diagnose me.

I didn't mean to set off a tangent when I asked about

the medication. Just trying to get some answers

Never meant you should not take it But it need leave me very confused The feeling "I" got was not worth it again to "ME".... I went to my local GI back on Procardia 20 minutes before main meal And a new ant- acid Forgot the name I was taking Nexuim and it did not work Did for a while Taking mylanta or any liquid ant acid a few times a day Oatmeal for breakfast slimfast for lunch Small meal for dinner Problem we are going to Atlantic City for 2 nights with a group How am I going to handle eating and drinking???? Don't want to make a fuss about my eating and drinking ... Back to my GI DR he wants to do an other complete work up But convinced to wait another 2 mos Then if I am not holding my own then okay But NO Manometry Once was enough I have no pertiliais [sp] Can that come back????

As for the trip to Atlantic city, can you handle eating soups?

I have found that almost in every restaurant, there is a soup of the day or whatever, and bring a bottle of water with you. Can you eat soup?

Most of the time, I eat very little and share most of my food with my family at the table or take it home in a leftover box and they eat it the next day!

I do emphathize though, it can be very stressfull.

As for the manometry test, maybe you should try it again. Sometimes you can get different results- I know I have.

I know it's no picnic, but if helps in your treatment to feel better-?

Take Care,

Jan in Northern KY
