Guest guest
Hello everybody, Sorry for not being able to send you more updates about Biancka's condition, but I've not been able to get all necessary stuff to our temporary home. Now I've got my laptop and Biancka's addressbook so I can send you updates again. I cannot receive replies, so I'll read them later when I get home. About Biancka's condition: She is slowly getting better but is still in the intensive care unit on a respirator. Last wednesday she was finally able to keep her bloodpressure and pulse up. She did have some trouble urinating because her kidneys had suffered some damage from her bering so ill. This is now under control. She also had trouble taking in enough oxygen because she had fluid near her lungs. To treat this, she rolled her over (face down) on a special bed. This resulted in a better oxygen level in her blood. After turning her on her back, they expected she had to be rolled over again but fortunately she kept taking in enough oxygen. Yesterday was the first day without her getting any medication. This includes narcotics so she is consious (but still very groggy). A setback yesterday was that a doctor didn't trust the stomachwound because of some fluid coming out of it. He decided te reopen the wound and check (and if necessary repair) the inner stitches. We had another scary hour, but everything went well. Right now Biancka is waiting for the respirator to be stopped so they can extubate her. Now she's consious, she understands what's happening to her and often very big tears roll down her cheeks. Let's hope she can leave the ICU as soon as possible. I hope to send you more updates with just good news in the future. Greetings, Edwin.

Guest guest
Ditto exactly what Maggie said!Debbi in Michigan Edwin, thanks for sending the update. We have all been very worried about Biancka and I know I speak for the entire group when I say we all sigh a breath of relief to know that her condition is improving. Will continue to pray that she keeps improving and will soon be home. HugsMaggie
Guest guest
Edwin, Thanks for keeping us in the loop when you are able. I know Biancka will continue to grow stronger and healthier each day. I know sometimes sicknesses such as this have a far greater effect on those closest to to the person than others might realize. Suffice it to say, I have been in your shoes. I hope you are taking care of yourself and not letting all of this get to you. Luckily, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Someday you'll look back on this as if it was all a dream, it takes time, trust me. If you ever need someone to talk to, please, don't hesitate to reach out to me. You'll all get through this and will be stronger because of it. Hang in there Edwin, we're all thinking of you guys! P.S. How is Jasper? Give him a big hug from ALL of us!
