Guest guest
Gail- What is ataxia? I have definitely had the fatigue. It can also be related to depression, a common problem with people who have chronic illness. I think mine was both nutritional deficiencies and depression. I have lots of memory and concentration problems, but I figured that it might be due to poor nutrition, since my problems have been going on for a year of very poor and little food consumption. Guest guest
Hi Gail, Ataxia can be caused by some medicines - are you on any medicnes - blood pressure meds can do this. I wobble around dangerously some days! Fatidue and lack of cancentration also go with a nutritional deficiency - are you eating well - even if it is in the form of soft sloppy stuff or liquidised food it is important to get the right nutrients. Try some vitamin and mineral supplements - you can use a liquid form. Debbi has also pointed you in the direction of thyroid problems. When you have researched that and tried some vitamins go an see you house doctor and discuss it. If it medicine related they can try other medicines. You don't always have to feel awful ! Joy, I agree with Sandi, it may be a good idea to check into a sleep study. There are a lot of things a sleep study can find. notan
Guest guest
Is it in any way related to Achalasia? What does it do? I thought it was when you stop breathing at night or something like that. My Dad does that and then sort of snorts himself away....terrible heavy snorer though. I, myself, am what my husband calls a " sleep breather " ....I enter a loud deep sleeping slow breathing mode...but I always thought I sleep all night quite well and then wake rested. Guest guest
Joy, Sleep apnea isn't related to achalasia as far as I know, but yes, you stop breathing in your sleep. Apnea, sleep apnea or obstructive sleep apnea are defined as " the cessation of breathing for 10 or more seconds while asleep " . I was a bit surprised that I have sleep apnea because I usually sleep so well and I have such an easy time falling asleep. However, according to my sleep study, I stop breathing 17 times an hour and I have 63 incidents an hour when my breathing slows down to the point that my oxygen saturation levels drop. I also don't get any REM sleep. Do you have high blood pressure? I have a very big problem w/my BP and I think it has a lot to do with the sleep apnea. I've been noticing lately that when I take a deep breath before taking my BP, my BP drops dramatically. Well, anyway, your symptoms sounded familiar and I just thought you might want to look into it. Guest guest
Sandi, Hmmmm? Very interesting. Well, not sure if I think I am ready to sign myself up for any more studies at the moment. I don't really want to find out I have anything else wrong with me or be diagnosed with any other diseases or problems. I do have VERY LOW Blood Pressure though if that has anything to do with it. Anyway, I will read the article and I do find it very interesting. Joy > > Joy, > > Have you had a sleep study? > > You sound very much like me.
