Guest guest Posted June 9, 2004 Report Share Posted June 9, 2004 Yes, I went for my pre-op screening today and I was OK-ed for the surgery. There's a target date: June 24th !!! Only 15 days from now. I was very shocked but also glad. But.......it is a target date. The surgery will be within a month for sure though. The surgery will be open abdomen (not chest....woohoo !!!!) and I will have to stay in the hospital for 7 days. It's a long time away from my 6 months old baby but he wont notice his mommy not being home at this stage. He will notice it a lot more when he is one year old. I am going to miss him like crazy !! I will order lots of photos to take with me ! LOL I am still very scared for the pain after surgery. Are there other people here in the group who had the open surgery ?? Maybe you can tell me your experiences ??? Did you have a lot of pain ?? When were you walking around again ?? Got telephone calls to make !
