I just wanted to thank

you, Debbi (the one where that guy was born – sorry sports fans) for the information

a few weeks back about spasms/chest pains/”heartburn”. On

Tuesday, I went to my family doctor, and explained to him my pains, and pretty

much asked what kind of meds I wanted. I had written down what you said

helps others, and read him the list, now knowing if what you have is available

in Canada. Anyways, he

prescribed me Nitroglycerin, and explained LOTS to me regarding how to take it

(such as sitting!) and when.

So, on Wednesday, I

picked it after after a bit of confusion with the pharmacists, asking if this

was for me, why, etc, because I am toooo young to be having angina.

Anyways, my doc cleared that one up for me, thank goodness. Last night,

as I was getting into bed, and reading, sure as sh!t, my “heartburn”

started. I debated on whether or not to take one of those little pills,

and let it dissolve because I was worried about the BP thing, and passing

out!! My hubby was home, and told me to take one, as he would be with me,

if needed.

No difference was

noticed, and 5 minutes later, as prescribed I took another.

GONE!!!! Chest pain stopped!!! Screw the heartburn idea completely now!!

I AM having spasms. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! For your

advice.

I will not go anywhere,

including my walks, without that tiny little bottle of “lifesavers”

anymore!) I will be sure to follow directions, and take as needed, but

boy, am I glad to have them! Thank you!!!!

PS – I had one of those 24 hour PH test with my

manometry, because I described having “heartburn”-like pains.

During the 24 hour period, there was ZERO acid reading on my test, and I was

told it couldn’t be as bad as I was describing – of course not –

you cannot read chest spasms on a ph test ( I don’t think! )

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad to hear that you've found relief! And SHAME on

your doc for not having told you about NCCP's associated with achalasia --

give him a hard time about it, and make sure he knows just how common it

is!

Debbi, who just read in the 2nd Edition Merck Home Manual that " pain isn't

common with achalasia " .....ARGH!!!! SPREAD THE WORD, PEOPLE, SO THAT

OTHERS DON'T SUFFER NEEDLESSLY!
