Guest guest
Hi Mark -- Did you see the recent discussions of Dr. Vaezi this week?Sandi and I attended the Esophageal Summit at TCC this weekend, and we were both VERY impressed with Dr. Vaezi. I had previously been seen by Dr. Richter (a year ago), but after meeting Dr. Vaezi and speaking to him one-on-one, I would be switching over to him even if Dr. Richter weren't leaving TCC! So, in answer to your question, I don't have any first-hand experience on a doctor-patient/treatment level, but I *have* had face-to-face conversations with him and I found him to be truly interested in listening to what people have to say (a very difficult-to-find quality in many doctors, I'm afraid!) as well as knowledgeable about all subjects esophageal. (He was the moderator for the "achalasia treatment debate" portion of the summit.) Dr. Achkar is also very well-informed and personable. I didn't really have much one-on-one time with him at the summit, but I did find him to also be a good listener (and when he recapped the points of the day, listening to the patient was one of the points he drove home!) and knowledgeable about achalasia. Hope this helps -- if you have any specific-type questions, feel free to ask! Debbi I'm currently seeing Richter at the ClevelandClinic. I understand he is leaving that facility. Has anyone had experience with Dr. Vaezi? Ineed to switch doctors at TCC but I'm not sure whichone. Help me make the decision. Thanks.Mark from Dayton, Ohio
Guest guest
Thanks Debbi, I'm going with your hunch and rescheduling with Dr. Vaezi this week. Please post to the group after your appt with Dr. Vaezi and share your impression of him as well. Sandi and I only met him in a " non-patient " setting, and I think it would be helpful for everyone who is thinking of going to TCC to hear what Dr. Vaezi is like in the doctor/patient relationship. I hope he's just as personable in BOTH environments! Debbi
Guest guest
Mark, I think you'll really like Dr. Vaezi. If I wasn't so far away, he would be my GI doctor too. Be sure to say hello to him from Deb and I! Sandi in No CA Re: Cleveland Clinic Doctors Thanks Debbi, I'm going with your hunch and rescheduling with Dr. Vaezi this week.
