Guest guest
I like to tell humorous stories in which I play with the English language. I have been gathering achalasia related idioms. While some of you can't stomach these bad jokes, I am going to stick my neck out and ask if anyone else can add to my list. That is hard to swallow. (That is not easy to believe.) To run at the mouth. (To talk excessively but say little of importance.) Tight-lipped. (Unwilling to speak about a particular issue.) Turn one's stomach, or Sick to your stomach. (Make one very upset.) Gut-reaction. (An intuitive feeling.) Eat one's words. (To have to admit you were wrong.) To have no teeth. (To be weak or ineffective.) Heart-sick. (Very sad or upset.) Stick your neck out. (To take a risk.) Lily-livered. (Afraid or cowardly.) To take with a grain of salt. (To not fully believe something.) Took the words out of my mouth (state an idea one was thinking already) Pete in Boston

Guest guest
Awww, Sandi, that is so sweet! ) And DEFINITELY the nicest thing anyone said about me yesterday.... Monday was not all that pleasant at the office! Although in fairness, I have to admit that my son was his usual sweet self -- did I tell you that he wants to be a girl when he grows up, so he can be just like me??? Doesn't that make you tear up to hear sweet stuff like that? ) Debbi, who went to the chiro for an adjustment yesterday, so I'm not nearly as "tight" as I used to be ! LOL “Tight”: Great, good, cool, interesting, nice, extraordinary, appealing, likeable, awesome, attractive. As in: Debbi Also as in: “My wrap is hella tight”! Guest guest
Debbi, “4” is such a cute age for kids. They say the funniest things and have so much going on inside those little minds of theirs! I miss when my children were that age, but I have a feeling that I’m going to be a grandma (me a grandma?) before too long. My daughter just brought my future son-in-law home to meet me last month and I am so excited for them. They are soooo HAPPY! They’re talking about having a whole house full of kids, so I’m getting a little excited…it will be fun being the “G” word…but I need to come up with a new name for myself…I’m not the Grandma type! Any ideas? Glad you aren’t so “tight” anymore! :-) Sandi TS(MSTI)INC -- Awww, Sandi, that is so sweet! ) And DEFINITELY the nicest thing anyone said about me yesterday.... They say the funniest things and have so much going on inside those little minds of theirs! Ain't that the truth??? They were watching the movie "Monsters Inc." when I picked him up from school yesterday. We own the DVD and he's seen it a gazillion times, but he didn't want to come home -- he wanted to see if the teacher's movie was just like his or not!!! LOL Who but a kid would think that everyone owns alternate versions of the same movie???? but I have a feeling that I’m going to be a grandma (me a grandma?) before too long. Congrats! They’re talking about having a whole house full of kids, so I’m getting a little excited… wants to have TEN kids.... he's already decided he needs to buy a big house and a lot of beds! hehehe it will be fun being the “G” word…but I need to come up with a new name for myself…I’m not the Grandma type! Any ideas? Well, there's the usual list: Nana, Nanny, Me-Maw, Granny, etc. Or you could get creative -- Since your name is Sandi, you could be "Sandma" instead of "Grandma"! Or you could just wait to see what happens.... had trouble w/ the "GR" sound, so he ended up calling my MIL "Vramma" -- sometimes she'll still sign off her emails as "Vramma", even though he can say it properly now! Similarly, my FIL was "Pop-pop" b/c that's how Baby ended up pronouncing it. My MIL is "Nanny" to my BIL's kids and "Granny" to my SIL's kids and "Vramma" or "Grandma" to my kid -- one lady, four different names!Deb

Guest guest
He has mentioned wanting to have a sibling, but he also wants a dog, a kitty, a sheep, a helicopter (he asked Santa for that one!), a big boat (like a yacht/motor cruiser), an ice arena and his own hockey team, and a few other items.
