,

I know you don't know who I am, and I have not been diagnosed with "A" as of yet, but from reading your post, I just felt I needed to reply to post to tell you what a trooper you have been and how I admire you for your faith and courage to get through all your troubles.

This holiday season, when I am having trouble eating, I will think of you and your courage.

Hi ;

I have a similar problem. When I bend too often, with everything "wide open" now, quite often I end up throwing up. If I do too much lifting, the same thing happens. Actually, if I lift too much during a day, I may as well forget about trying to eat. Having Achalasia also caused me to lose my job. I couldn't lift the clients into their wheelchairs etc. I started doing emergency care / foster care for The Children's Aid Society. Christmas is always extremely busy. I have a full house again this Christmas. Myself, my husband, 12 year old daughter, and four foster children. It's very rewarding. All you need is a loving home and some background in child care. Training is ongoing. Personally, I love doing what I do. So far, we have looked after 43 children in crisis situations.

I'm sure glad you are feeling better after your major surgery.

Have a terrific Christmas.

All the best in the New Year,

.

-- Hi all ,life after Esophagectomy continues.

Hi all I am sorry I have not been on for awhile. I have been focused on getting better and of course getting through Christmas. At first when I got home life was alittle scarey as I was in alot of pain and having alot of diarrhea.Not knowing what was causing it or if it was something I was doing wrong.I thought I was doing and eating only what I was suppose to. Then I went to one of my regular Doc app. and I found out my iron level was rock bottom and a few other things were too.So I am now on iron pills and major vitamins. The iron has slowed down the diarrhea somewhat and I feel stronger now as well. It seems everyday is getting better and better.I was told by my Doc. that I will have to find a different job as I will never be able to bendover and in my job that seems to be all the time.It was suggested that I try something with computers. Not sure what to do.I do not think I will find another job that will pay me $17.00/hr. like I was making.Does anyone have any suggestions? well I have to go for now. You all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.Thanks everyone for helping me through this past years griefs.Love you all.
