, it was also mentioned at that same time that someone had heard that Marilyn vos Savant was an achalasian -- I've since learned from her office that this is NOT true in her case.

A while back there was a thread about 'famous' people with "A". Onemember of the group mentioned that astronomer Carl Sagan was a "A"sufferer.I went to the library and found a biography call "Carl Sagan - A Life"by Keay son. There are numerous references to his battle with "A:"in this book.Just thought I would mention this, in case anybody is interested inreading about it** Just found a message that provides some information from this book -goto message 3379 **.Keep well Calgary, Canada

I posted that message, It did not say she had achalasia but that she had

dysphagia, particularly to cold drinks. This is from memory of one of her

columns from about ten years ago. Did her office comment on dysphagia?

Sorry for the misquote, notan! That actually WAS the way I worded it -- here's the exact question I asked and the response I got back:Someone in a group I belong to said he had read once that you have trouble swallowing, particularly with cold liquids. We were wondering if in fact this is true.

-------------------Hi, Debbi--No, this isn't true.Marilyn

So, I DID have my facts straight when I asked the question, I just misquoted myself and you both this time 'round.

No problem. You have me wondering what it was that I read. I wonder if I

could find it in a guide to periodic literature.

uh oh.... showing your age if you know what those are and how to use them! my husband and I were musing the other day about how our son will grow up not knowing a world of black-and-white television, only having 3 TV channels (and fuzzy ones at that some days!), no microwave ovens, no computers or internet or email, etc.

going to the library is almost a lost art anymore, at least for research purposes! :o)

Debbi, who remembers when the Playtex Cross-Your-Heart bra commercials showed the bra on a mannequin that was wearing a leotard -- the tv censors would have had strokes if they'd seen the current 's Secret commercials!
