Guest guest
Notan makes an interesting point - we sufferers may end up finding the cure ourselves. Until then, how much research is being done around the world, in the Universities and Teaching Hospitals? We're always being reminded about cancer research, amongst other diseases, but is anyone 'pioneering' a cure for achalasia? If surgeons can successfully transplant heart & lungs in one operation, why not a new gullet? Alternatively, like a pacemaker, can an artificial mechanism be invented to allow the LES to open at the right time?
