Glad its working for you. Too bad we couldn't all start a prescription club comprised of used prescriptions. We could all use up the unwanted ones that someone else couldn't take if it was prescribed by the Dr. I'll bet tons of pills get thrown out. We could call it 'Disposable Drugs' hahahahaha xoxoxoxoxo Shell

Guest guest
Christie: I think it would be a good idea but Im sure its illegal as heck. Some of us like me are lucky to have really extensive insurance plan. I might pay only 7 dollars for a huge bottle of something like neruontin. (Believe me though I pay for it emotional abuse and tears due to the man I married). I know what those on HMOs or no coverage etc,. are going through and I've often wished I could help them because I've been there. I think the concers would be that someone might take something that could hurt them and then we would all feel responsible OR someone might spill the beans and we'd all get busted. Maybe we could do something where if you need a medication you can't afford you send out an e mail to the group . You then mail the prescription to the person who has the extra medication and then they mail the medication to you. That way no one would be taking something that wasn't actually prescribed. However, those involved would lose their confidentiality. Thats not an issue for me, but some people are very private. Anyway its fun to entertain this idea. xoxoxoxoxoxo Shell
Guest guest
I had an hmo until recently and I can tell you that when drug didn't work, I gave it back to my physician so he could then give it another patient without funds or insurance. Well, now I don't have insurance and I've moved so I can't be a part of that. FIrst, I think everyone knows this but there are several options for people who need prescriptions and can't afford to buy them. One is to write dierectly to the company, a good letter explaining (BRIEFLY) why you need the med, how it helps and what your current financial situation is. When you call the drug company, find out who to talk to or what the department head is and address. Letters are much more effective when you find out the name of the person who should receive it. Once you've identified the area or person, you may also want to include a letter from your doc, in which he/she explains your situation and confirms your financial need. I know the company that makes neurontin does this. Additionally, someone posted a long list of 'agencies' that help you get prescriptions when you are low on funds and in similar situation. I know you need to explain, include a letter from your doc-maybe even a copy of tax returns or something... I'll see if I saved the list unless everyone has seen it. And lastly, I'm about to give that avenue a try but not sure it will help for the two very expensive drugs I take, most notable ambien. If anyone wants to privately list what they have and what they need, maybe we can help one another out. When I did have an hmo, I filled my own neurontin knowing my Mother couldn't afford hers (it was prescribed). I'm taking a risk here, this is is just for discussion, please don't assume I want to trade drugs illegaly, it's just a potential solution. Guest guest
Hi, This sounds like a good idea. I'm sorry about the marital difficulties - I can relate. Take care, Christie tab@...
