Has anyone tried Coromega? We also tried the Efalex and had difficulty with

the fishy smell and the fishy breath so we are " shopping " around. There is

a website for Coromega at www.coromega.com . Does anyone have any success

stories with this?

Hi!

I'm sending some EFA out to Rhonda and the Canadian group who are

going to try a small feedback study this month for those of you

there. It will be great to hear what happens there in a few weeks.

I believe the meeting is March 3.

We had great results in our nonprofit with the Pro EFA with Borage

Oil (fish oil and borage oil. In their research Nordic Naturals

found the Borage Oil to be better than Primrose for a number of

reasons) Pro EFA, like all Nordic Naturals products, is third person

tested for purity, and is similar to Efalex, but with Borage Oil

rather than Primrose Oil. Some people saw changes with the DHA Jr.

but most didn't. We don't know if it was to low a dosage the

children took, or what. So the EFA of the day was Pro EFA, and

it's inexpensive too since you only need one capsule a day and there

are 90 per bottle for $17.95 (plus shipping) I don't believe they

are available all over yet. If you want the Pro EFA product, (or DHA

Jr. or others) you can purchase it through our website at

http://www.apraxia.cc under products.

Our son Tanner's experience with EFA products was written up in The

LCP Solution. We started with Efalex and since then we have be-

bopped from brand to brand, and was using Efalex again before we

started the ProEFA with borage oil brand.

So far our favorites are the Efalex and the Pro EFA, but we like the Pro

EFA better because we have had some real major breakthroughs, and it

doesn't smell fishy like the Efalex, Tanner doesn't seem to mind the

taste like he did with the others. Try it and you will see what I

mean-it is that obvious.

Well, when I say try it, I meant the smell. The owner of Nordic

Naturals told me to bite into it because " the borage oil is sweet,

and it's really good. Really! " I told her, " Oh yes, I'll be sure to

do that. " (Of course I tried not to laugh, but the first thing that

went through my head is that grape nut's guy. Sweet fish oil?!)

Tanner's a trooper and takes it from a spoon every day. (I hold his

nose for him) We have had some incredible break-throughs since

starting him on Pro EFA about a month ago. For example, for over a

year on and off, Tanner's therapists had tried laying him backwards,

gargling, etc. to get him to do the " k " sound, but Tanner never did.

Also, he had trouble saying words quickly. Since about a month of

Pro EFA, he now can say the K sound, he just learned to say " car "

and " cat " (!!!) and very quicky over and over he can say " absolutely

it, " and a few others(a few of you have heard that one-I have to have put

that on the Talking Page (http://www.debtsmart.com/talk)

Tanner's now starting to put in the little words. Those of you with

apraxic children that are starting to talk know what I mean, many

times they tend to leave out all the little words. The other day

Dakota and Tanner were pillow fighting and Tanner said " Mommy, Toda

has my pillow, it's mine. " He used to say " Mommy, Toda my pillow, my

pillow. " I'm not kidding, Tanner today asked me to take the fish oil

so he can talk better (he was in another " discussion " with his

brother.)

I'm really excited about how well and how quickly some of these EFA

products work (if you didn't notice.) It doesn't take long to see if

it will work for your child, and the stories are dramatic changes-not

typical changes. Do not buy the Efalex or ProEFA if your child is

prone to seizures, or has any rare disorders without checking with

your doctor though. Just in case. Pro EFA does not contain vit. A

like the DHA Jr. which is just cod liver oil, which has vit. A

naturally.

Hope that helps!
