I probably should tho. My doc is good but its hard for me to get him to do things. I've been waiting for 3 months for him to " get around " to ordering a cancer test that I want, and immune profile test and an amino acid profile. I think I might want the 2,5A synthetase pathway also. I have trouble deciding which tests I want and which ones are worth paying for (cost vs benefit). If anybody has some good cost/benefit suggestions for the squalene test I'd be glad to hear them. (for example, would that make getting disability easier? Or is there something I can do to get the squalene out of my body if I find out I have it?) Patti --

Guest guest
Squalene is a natural component of the body but antibodies to it suggest an outside source. One possibility is as a adjuvant in anthrax vaccine some suspected of being given to GWS. Note the French did not use this vaccine and no GWS. How do you treat it other than palliatively? We would all like to know. If it really is present, what symtoms or disease does this finding indicate? We would all like to know. M. Skari wrote: > From: " M. Guest guest
There is a GREAT article in the May issue of Vanity Fair about gulf war syndrome, and gulf war vaccine which was given to some people that never went to the Gulf war and are now sick. There is some info on squaline additives which is in plain language. I was excited to see in the Monday edition of the Hartford Courant, front page, that the federal government is going to look into the anthrax vaccine which was given to so many service men and women, as a cause of the Gulf War Syndrome. I'll be disappointed to lose the Gulf War Syndrome sufferers from our ranks, as they will no longer be considered to have CFS/FM, but I am thrilled at the prospect that so many, who have suffered so much, may finally have an answer. Hopefully an effective treatment can be found for our service men and women. About three years ago, when I was seeing a local Rheumatologist, he said as part of his argument that CFS doesn't exist; " Look at Gulf War Syndrome, if that were a real illness, why don't other troops, from other countries that were in the Gulf War, have Gulf War syndrome? " The anthrax vaccine/squaline explanation would fit this scenario. At the time, the GWS was being denied completely by the government, I was so sick that I didn't have any argument about anything he said in his harangue. I just knew that I was sick, sick, sick and he wasn't helping me. Too bad, he had helped me for almost three years, with some pretty good treatment for FM. When it turned to full blown, bedbound CFS, he suggested I go on vacation, relax.... I wonder what Dr. Nicholson thinks about the anthrax vaccine theory of Gulf War Syndrome causality. Maybe there is more than one cause. Barb

Guest guest
lots of info on mycoplasma, vaccines etc at: http://www.gulfwarvets.com/ shocking vaccine info at: http://www.tetrahedron.org/ > I'll be disappointed to lose the Gulf War Syndrome sufferers from our ranks, > as they will no longer be considered to have CFS/FM, but I am thrilled at the > prospect that so many, who have suffered so much, may finally have an answer. > Hopefully an effective treatment can be found for our service men and women. Don't get your hopes up yet... There is not one single cause of GWS. If the person *only* suffers from micoplasma, then there may be an answer for those people, but there are depleted uranium problems, and many other problems that can't be handled with an antibiotic regimin. Lots of evidence that an experimental AIDS vaccine was used on some that ravaged their immune system. Even many standard vaccines are tainted with numerous viruses that have been unstudied. Not to mention the mysterious little yellow pills that reportedly contained pyridostigmine (sp?) and all the nastiness that could have caused. > About three years ago, when I was seeing a local Rheumatologist, he said as > part of his argument that CFS doesn't exist; " Look at Gulf War Syndrome, if > that were a real illness, why don't other troops, from other countries that > were in the Gulf War, have Gulf War syndrome? " We just don't hear about this in the US. *PLENTY* of troops from other countries have GWS also. I saw a TV show about hundreds of former British troops that have died or completely bedridden from GWS. Other countries had fewer troops and therefore had fewer GWS cases. My understanding is that the French troops weren't given these vaccines (or the little yellow pyridostigmine (sp?) pills) and they did not have any GWS cases. > Maybe there is more than one cause. Yes, very definitely. That's one reason why its so hard to pin down. Does the veteran have mycoplasma, pyridostigmine poisoning, squalene problems, ravaged immune system from experimental AIDS vaccine, antrax vaccine problems, depleted uranium poisoning (some tanks were made with depleted uranium), problems with unstudied contaminants in vaccines, etc, etc. or all the above???
