Hi,

I am starting a program for adults. I am looking for a couple families to

participate.

Here is a short description on the program.

The Mindful Engagement program goal is to enhance social engagement, daily

living skills that can lead to independence and economic self-sufficiency, to

train and support individuals for jobs within the community which enables them

to become self-sufficient, productive, and contributing community members.

Working alongside a Guide will enable the individual to build the foundations to

be a productive active member of the community. This includes relationship

building, flexible thinking, communication skills, problem solving as well as

learning to be a good apprentice. The program will boost self confidence and

increase self esteem.

We are in Plainfield, Il area, but our goal is to involve your son/daughter

more in their own community. So, we come to you. I will try and attach the

information for the program but not sure how to do that??

We target ASD to some physically handicapped individuals. This would be

for low to high functioning adults. The program is really personalized

with individual goals in mind.

Hi Amy,

I might have an interest in this program in the future. Right now, my son is 17,

so will qualify for school district services until age 22, and I don't have

home-based waiver funding or government funding at the present time.

On another issue, was reading Laurie Jerue's post, and I had an off the top of

my head idea for a business called " Pack it up " . The idea here is to offer

moving preparation services to families or offices relocating. This would be

particularly targeted to folks who don't want to pay the cost of having the

movers come in and do that, but may not have the time or willingness to do the

preparations totally on their own.

Any thoughts or comments on the feasibility and/or marketability of such a

service would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
