Guest guest
Hi, I am new to the group. I have a 2 1/2 year old son, Zachary, who has been in the birth to 3 program since he turned 2 (August, 2000). He was not speaking (grunting and pointing). Since therapy he now speaks single words (approximately 50-75). His pediatrician and speech therapist are hesitant to diagnose apraxia. I have been reading literature and visiting many websites. There is no one that I can talk to that understands the frustration that my son and I both feel by his " speech problem " . I don't know if he is a late talker or does in fact have apraxia. I have read the emails regarding ProEFA and don't know if that is something I should consider. I really don't know what questions I should be asking or what other symptoms my son displays. I would appreciate any responses that would ease my " lack of knowledge " . I stay awake at night crying and wondering if I did something wrong or am not doing something that I should be doing. Thank you for taking the time to read this and responding in any way. Marino
