Guest guest
My son is on the Adult Home Based Services and has Medicare and Medicaid right now, is that going to change? ________________________________ From: Jerue Family <jeruefamily@...> IPADDUnite Sent: Fri, December 23, 2011 7:35:09 AM Subject: Waiver comments on Dual Eligibility  In looking through the beginning of what you initially posted, Ellen, I see this and wonder why the box isn’t checked -- 1.. Dual Eligibility for Medicaid and Medicare. Check if applicable: [ ] This waiver provides services for individuals who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid. If this isn’t part of the new Waiver, whoa! Wouldn’t that disqualify , for example, when she eventually gets Medicare and Medicaid, sometime next year? Please tell me I’m reading this wrong! Guest guest
This will impact the people with disabilities whose parents have retired as well. as those who worked to get SSDI credits on their own. There is a big push for " Employment First " in Illinois which will mean , hopefully, more people with disabilities working and earning SSDI and eventually Medicaire. Many of those people will need the waiver to pay for job coaches. I am glad Lori found this and hoping the advoacates at the table realize the error and make the change to include Medicare recipients as well. Guest guest
I could not find the section you are referring to but did see a reference to this on page 3 under 1. Request for Information. It states that for " New waivers requesting five year approval periods, the waiver must serve individuals who are dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicare. " This is a RENEWAL for 5 years and currently does include individuals who are dual eligible. I did not see anything that says the Waiver will exclusively include people who are only receiving Medicaid. However, they DO need to have Medicaid as this is a MEDICAID waiver program. Perhaps you can tell me the specific page you were referring to so I can offer a better explanation to your question. > > In looking through the beginning of what you initially posted, Ellen, I see this and wonder why the box isn’t checked -- > > 1..
