Guest guest
Music is good for the soul as well as the mind and body. Wish I could be there but I live in Ohio. Good luck. Grammy Patty
Guest guest
Hi Varvara! That sounds SO wonderful what you are doing! I would be willing to travel pretty far for Tanner's therapy, but NJ to Kansas may be pushing it. For those in the area, and for the sake of those children with " apraxia " (for lack of the new diagnosis name) would you consider including children with apraxia into your study as well? There are many autistic/PDD children that have apraxia, but there are also many children with apraxia who do not have autism, or PDD. In addition, there are many apraxic children who have been misdiagnosed with autism, and sometimes parents will keep (or seek out) inaccurate " labels " in order to receive appropriate therapy for their child. If you do decide you would also like to incorporate apraxic children into your study, or have separate sessions for apraxic children, I know that some of our professionals are interested in speaking with you! Best of luck with whatever you decide, and thanks for bringing more beauty to special children and their families!
Guest guest
Thank you for replying to my e-mail. Unfortunately, becuase of the design of my study I cannot include any children who have apraxia. However, I will keep that in mind for future research. Guest guest
,I'll ask around to see what I can find, as I'm not too familiar with the east side services. Before I had my son (ASD), I worked as a music therapist in private practice. Remember, you sometimes get what you pay for. I charged anywhere from $50-$75 an hour, but I traveled to homes. If you can find someone practicing out of a clinic, it would be more affordable. Also--have you ever thought about trying to obtain MT services on your IEP? I was successful in providing and obtaining MT as a related service for many school districts. Email me offline if you'd like more info (I don't currently practice, but might be able to find someone to do assessments and such). Good luck!Amy--- On Tue, 9/29/09, LBarano710@... <LBarano710@...> wrote:From: LBarano710@... <LBarano710@...>Subject: [ ] MUSIC THERAPY , Sharigoldberg22@...Date: Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 10:00 AM Hi everyone!
