Guest guest
Requesting the white filling instead of the mercury ones shouldn't bother the dentist all...they'll make more money off of you. My son is 5 and had 2 cavities, one really bad that they had to kill the root and has to get a crown for it so I understand some of what you are dealing with. Diane and Jim Emerick emerick@... I am thinking they may be getting a kickback also called a referral fee. Esp. when the people I saw today set up an appointment. What are some reasons that he may be getting so many cavities? Any ideas anyone? I know lots of kids that eat sweets like him and dont get one cavity so early on. Dentist have been giving us the run- a-round for 2 yrs now. I am fed up. Is there a book, link, or homeopath that I can call to find out reasons for this. There is not one around here. We had one and for some strange reason they left after 6 weeks without a word. Makes me think the local doctors did not like it.
Guest guest
hi - there was an article in a mothering issue a couple of issues back. their is some kind of bacteria that can be spread from mom - child or from other people close to the child that is in the mouth that can cause cavities. i'm sure you could find the article on mothering.com i wonder too what causes them because my 3 year old has 4 cavities - 2 in very rare places (that's what my dentist said) and he said it had nothing to do with brushing or what not because he said her teeth were very clean. he suggested that i try and find out what it could be. i thought of taking her to my homeopath too. good luck. i'm sure you can find a dentist who will fill them in the chair. my 5 year old had 2 filled in the chair this summer. Thanks for that idea. I am thinking they may be getting a kickback also called a referral fee. Esp. when the people I saw today set up an appointment. Guest guest
One of my kids(my first breastfed baby) had terrible teeth and needed Several cavities filled in her baby teeth(we're not big on sweets either). Our dentist was/is wonderful~ used a local anesthetic, kept reassuring her while he did the work, used the tooth colored stuff, and only did 1 at a time. He told me he thought her enamel was just really thin, and it may or may not be the case with her adult teeth. Her adult teeth all came in just fine, and she's only had a couple of pits filled as a preventative(she's 13 now). The bacteria possibility passed from mother to child is an interesting suggestion... I'll have to look for that article. At any rate, none of my other kids had that problem, so I always just assumed it was just " her " . Guest guest
Here is one link where you can search for mercury-free dentists. http://www.talkinternational.com/mfdsindex3.htm Or contact Ziff at the phone/e-mail given on this page. I found a dentist in Japan through him. Good luck. http://emporium.turnpike.net/P/PDHA/mercury/dentist.htm

There are certain constitutional types who have weak teeth, more susceptible to cavities. Seeing a homeopath and working with that to correct it stops that problem, and teeth become stronger. Doesn't correct what has already happened, but prevents for the future. Thse must be baby teeth.........can prevent for next teeth > Is there a book, link, or homeopath that I can call to find out >reasons for this. There is not one around here. He has 17 cavities. I dont > feel it is needed but 2 dentists have said the same thing Please make sure you get another opinion! I just went to a new dentist because he did not use mercury fillings. He then " stained " my teeth and told me I had 9 cavities! I had only had two small cavities before in my life and couldn't understand why I had so many. I then went to a biological dentist here in Wisconsin and both dentists there told me I only had one cavity that needed to be filled. They also use this " stain " , but only to see if there is any more of the cavity to be drilled away before being filled. Apparently, the other " cavities " could be due to differences in the composion of my enamel or they are just very small ones that were on the surface of the enamel and will need to be watched in case they get further into the enamel. Sometimes they never change. They also did a procedure where they checked my body composition to make sure that the material in the filling was compatible for me, and would not be toxic to my body. You can probably come across a lot of info at <A HREF= " www.mercola.com " > www.mercola.com</A>. Even though this dentist is 3 hours away, he is our new family dentist. , Wisconsin
