Guest guest
Please see if you can help stop the pesticide spraying in New York City This message is from Mitchel Cohen, the head of the No Spray Coalition. You can contact him at _mitchelcohen@..._ (mailto:mitchelcohen@...) Hi, I'm writing this to the NoSpray core ... We need your help immediately, as we're moving into high gear around the City's greatly increased spraying this summer. 1) Please contact your local pediatricians and other MDs and medical personnel and ask if they received any health advisory pertaining to the spraying of pesticides this year. (Not West Nile Virus per se, but to pesticides.) If they say they received one for pesticides, please ask them for a copy of it. My bet is that no health advisory went out because there is no health issue here as defined by the City. That would be essential in pursuing legal remedies. Please do this within the next 24 hours. 2) We also need to pore over the 2011 NYC Comprehensive Mosquito Plan -- I haven't seen the current version -- and compare it to older versions. Was there an Environmental Impact Statement done, hearings held, etc.? The above two prongs are in addition to -- and not a substitute for -- actions we plan to take, but they will help kick open the legal doors so we can raise the other issues. Thanx. Mitchel If you have information _http://www.MitchelCohen.com _ (http://www.mitchelcohen.com/) Ring the bells that still can ring, Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack, a crack in everything, That's how the light gets in. ~ Leonard Cohen
