Colored Light Therapy

I was recently reminded of a relatively obscure therapy using colored light

for treatment of diseases and injuries. The treatment was called

Spectro-Chrome, and was used in the United States from around 1921 to 1958,

when the

Food & Drug Administration (FDA) obtained a permanent injunction against

distribution of projectors or books outside the State of New Jersey and the

treatment disappeared.

WARNING: At the outset, all of the information about this therapy is only

educational and if you have a health condition you are urged to see a

health practitioner regarding it. You have the right to accept or reject that

advice.

During the period above the therapy was even used by a senior surgeon at

Philadelphia Women's Hospital, Dr.Kate Baldwin,MD who felt it was usually

more effective than surgery and far safer. Her article on it appeared in the

Atlantic Medical Journal of April 1927.

The system was pioneered in the United States by Dinshah Ghadiali, an

Indian mathematician based on the scientific principles of Dr.Wiliam Walliston,

Dr Edwin Babbitt and others.

The theory is based on the fact that different colored light on the

spectrum gives off different frequencies and wave lengths. These are responsible

for stimulating and or inhibiting different organs.

Dinshah Ghadiali died in 1966 at the age of 93. His children formed an

Educational Foundation, the Dinshah Health Society, which promotes the ideas

he pioneered. Their website is _www.dinshahhealth.org_

For $20.00 they offer a book, instructional DVD and a Membership in the

Society.

Their detailed description of the therapy and Manual is the book " Let There

Be Light " which gives an outline of the therapy, the only thing needed is

a flashlight that unscrews in the front and allows the placement of filter

paper in front of the light source. Each application called a " tonation " of

the light is shined on the areas designated in the book and should last

for an hour..

According to the theory, the body is most receptive to the light rays at

specific times of the day that varies each day and depends on your geographic

location.

The foundation supplies you with a " Variant Breath Forecast " that gives the

optimal times of each day.

The filters are the same as those used in theatrical productions.

All of the filters are made by Rosco Laboratories, called Roscolene Filters

and can be obtained from Samarco Inc.

I used the therapy for a heel spur about 18 years ago. I also iced the area

and bandaged it,

I stopped running for about 4 months.

One may assume that I might have gotten better anyway. But that is a

judgment each individual has to make.In any event I think it is worth a look.
