Jeanne Buesser, who is the President of one of our affiliate groups,

the Bergen County Apraxia Support Group, let me know that one of the

major news stations in NY responded to our press release about doing

a segment on verbal apraxia in children. We will keep you posted on

the air date of this, and when and which meetings they will attend to

film. Dr. Marilyn Agin will be the main medical expert interviewed

for this, but other professionals or parents may be interviewed as

well.

I called Stefanie Linzer from Inside Edition right away to tell her

about this, as well as the news about the verbal apraxia brochures we

will be doing that will be distributed to hundreds of thousands of

pediatricians nationwide through the help from a large nonprofit

health organization. In addition, because of the outreach going on

in the NJ/tri-state area, and with the help of so many of you with

your stories: from now on, all the hospitals, birthing centers,

pediatricians, and obstetricians will be giving out information about

Early Intervention, and when to call if there is a problem. We are

here to help you start a support source in your area.

As many of you know, even though the apraxia segment Inside Edition

did with our organization is still aired on " stand by " nationwide in

the US, they are interested in doing an update now before the apraxia

segment is released nationwide since there has been SO much positive

growth. Not that the segment wasn't good the way it was-but they

would like all the new information in the nationwide (update) apraxia

segment as well.

For those keeping score, the last 11 hours have been very fruitful

from a media perspective on autism and thimerosal.

Bill, I'm not sure if my emails went thru about it, but at 10:30pm last night, a New York City News Station reached a potential audience of a few million people (NY, NJ, & CN) and aired a 5 minute piece on Autism and Parents. They talked about the NYS bill on Thimerosal, the campaign to fax the president, Kirby's Book, Barbara Loe Fisher, the Generation Rescue Ad, and how parents are so worried about how there is mercury in the flu shots this year, they went up to Albany to talk to representatives.
