Guest guest
Did you know Marijuana is legal in MICH -as an appetite stimulant, in capsule form (usually for the aged, anorexic or for side effects of chemo) it is called " Marinol " . The groups still arguing for it to be " legalized " are the same ones who just want to SMOKE it, I'll bet Kathie --- HUNTDIXIE@... wrote: > Did you know that Marijuana is an Herb? Guest guest
It is VERY bad to smoke marijuana. It can have the same or worse effects than smoking tobacco. Smoke is smoke and air is air, and the lungs should be protected from the one and given plenty of the other.

The biggest influence is the environment and lack of education and support. Marijuana has been around for centuries and if the above statement was true we would all be the offspring of drug addicts. Banning the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes is both ignorant and cruel. Best, ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. Yes and No. The imposition of poorly-thought-out taboos on rebellious and impulsive kids who are still finding themselves can lead to the casual violation of those proscriptions that have far greater societal and personal adverse consequences. The solutions are found it honest education (pros and cons), open communication, respect and understanding. Parents sometimes forget how difficult it is being young. Guest guest
Good thoughts, . I am a case in point. I was arrested in Nebraska in my early twenties for possession and sale of marijuana. I was hitchhiking across country with a friend, ( " looking for America " ), and the vehicle we were in broke down, so we sold some of the marijuana we'd been smoking to some disguised narcotics agents for 50 dollars in order to get the money to fix the car. At that time, first offense for selling marijuana in Nebraska was punishable by up to a year in a state penitentiary. Instead, I was given a year's probation, with the promise that if I was arrested in any other state for a similar or other crime, I'd be extradited and sent to the penitentiary. I never again sold marijuana, and I certainly didn't turn into any big- or even small-time criminal. --- > > >Actually, with regard to " Reefer Madness, " the use of marijuana can and > >does lead to the use of harder drugs. > > Yes and No. The imposition of poorly-thought-out taboos on > rebellious and impulsive kids who are still finding themselves can > lead to the casual violation of those proscriptions that have far > greater societal and personal adverse consequences. Guest guest
No sense getting into an extended off-topic conversation on this. I have agreed that a hard-nosed, " no exceptions " outlook on the use of marijuana for pain relief appears block-headed to me. But certainly the statement " Anything can lead to the use of harder drugs " tempts me to say something like, " Yes, but the use of peanut butter or underarm deodorant is much less likely to lead to hard drug use than is the use of marijuana. " I certainly agree that in many cases, lack of education and lack of a good, safe, understanding parental and other environment can lead to hard drug use. I am friends with a black man who grew up in " the projects, " after his wife-beating dad left his mom, and who was pretty much forced to join a gang for self-protection when he was growing up. Drug use and drug sales was a part of being in that gang, and he became a cocaine addict and later became a small-time burglar to support his habit and now is a three-time loser at age 47, spending at least 6 more years in prison for his last spree of burglaries. I wonder whether if the government and leaders of inner city communities were to sit down together with the express purpose of hammering out a long-range, well-funded, well-directed plan for halting the chain of events I've just described whether anything real and significant could be done to halt the terrible waste and destruction of human life. > > In a message dated 3/6/07 9:55:30 AM Eastern Standard Time, > vgammill@... writes: > > > > Actually, with regard to " Reefer Madness, " the use of marijuana can and > > >does lead to the use of harder drugs. > > > > Anything can lead to the use of hard drugs. Guest guest
This must be a newer law in Michigan. I wasn't able to get it in any form when I was going through my treatment in Michigan. There is nothing else like it for nausea, appetite stimulant, insomnia and to make the excruciating pain of having third degree burns, inside and out, more tolerable. I had to get it illegally. I could have lost my kids and gone to jail. I could have died in jail! Contrary to another reply I read to this post, I did not resort to using harder drugs and I did not become addicted. When I didn't need it anymore, it was gone, just like the morphine. I'm am a big advocate for the legalization of medical marijuana, because I needed it and experienced first hand it's medicinal benefits. That's just my opinion based on my experience.
