Guest guest
PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS AND DIETARY INFORMATION DAILY REGIMEN INSTRUCTIONS Patients currently undergoing the therapy should adjust their lifestyles to avoid the following: a.. psychological and physical stress b.. extreme changes in temperatures c.. intake of any substances (alcohol, nicotine, narcotics, etc.) d.. irregular eating and sleeping habits The key is to maintain as balanced a lifestyle as possible under the circumstances. Constant psychological stress can have an extremely negative effect on the patient's immune system, sleeping regimen, and overall well-being. Such stress can have many forms starting from the fear of the disease or the lack of family support to various forms of less obvious stress drivers such as workaholism and the inability to relax. Human body and the mind work closely together on the biochemical level which has been proven in many scientific experiments. The key for cancer patients or patients suffering from autoimmune conditions, is to try to avoid anything that would sway the body chemistry out of balance. The treatment medication together with the balanced lifestyle and the dietary regimen have been designed to restore homeostasis in the body. (Note: Homeostasis is the state of equilibrium in the body with respect to various functions and to the chemical compositions of the fluids and tissues.) Balanced lifestyle and diet positively contribute to the balance that needs to be restored and/or maintained in the human body. Without such balance, the body's natural defense mechanisms (such as the immune system) cannot function properly. Since any extremes may disrupt the balance, the following steps toward a balanced lifestyle are highly recommended: a.. Relaxation techniques and meditation at least once a day will help release psychological stress; b.. Setting up a hierarchy of what is most important will help to relieve anxiety (patient's most important values should be placed on his/her own well-being); c.. Creating a relatively stable daily regimen will teach the body to function more effectively (regular sleeping habits, regular meals throughout the day, time to work and time to relax); d.. Vigorous physical exercise should be avoided as it leads to an increase in the usage of ATP energy in body cells. This ATP process is crucial in the recovery period and should not be disturbed. Instead of physical exercise, taking up yoga and other stretching and relaxation exercise with slow body movements is recommended. Walking is also recommended as it helps to oxygenate the body. Walking should be of medium speed, relaxed, but not to the point of being tired; e.. The temperature outside the body can also influence the homeostatic process. Avoiding very hot or cold showers and/or baths is essential. Likewise, staying in very cold or warm rooms or outdoors may have a negative effect. Instead, shower/bath water temperature should be as close to the body temperature as possible. Clothing should be chosen to keep the body as comfortable as possible; f.. Alcohol, tobacco smoke, narcotics or even abuse of various medication have very negative effects on the body chemistry and homeostasis. Abuse of these substances will directly affect the therapy and the process of the disease. DIETARY REGIMEN The medication is highly acidic, yet it tends to alkalize the patient's body. The purpose of the diet which excludes spicy and sour foods is to keep the cell metabolism as even as possible to prevent any sudden metabolic changes within the cells of the body. It is also designed to help alkalize the body regardless of the patient's metabolic type. People generally fall into four different metabolic types. Based on this typing, some food groups will alkalize certain metabolic types, while further acidifying others. The AM-2 diet is designed to accomodate all four metabolic types of patients. During the entire course of the treatment and one month following the treatment, the patient should strictly follow the dietary regimen. During that period, no vitamin C and B3 supplements should be taken. After staying on the diet for the two months (one month during and one month following treatment) the patient may start GRADUALLY adding other food products previously prohibited in the diet. This process must be done slowly and gradually. If additional follow-up injections (boosters) are necessary, the patient must go back on the strict dietary regimen. It is extremely important to drink plenty of liquids, especially water, every day to allow the body to better hydrate itself and flush out toxins. It is necessary to drink at least ½ a gallon of water per day. It is also very important to consume foods free of additives, preservatives, and artificial color and sweeteners. Patients with a serious disease such as cancer should purchase their food items in natural food stores (this includes not only fruits and vegetables, but meats that are free of hormones and antibiotics, dairy products, cereals, etc.). Even though the prices are higher, the food quality is well worth the extra price. It is important to note that hot spices should be eliminated from the diet for a period of at least 6 months. The rule of thumb is - if the food tastes sour or spicy, it should not be consumed since it will interfere with the rate of cell metabolism. Intake of salt must be limited. The only salt that should be used in very limited amounts is iodized SEA SALT. The following diet is a restricted diet in some respects. It is essential that patients taking the AM-2 medication avoid the foods that are on the prohibited list. It is also very important that patients eat a wide variety of minerals and other nutrients that are building blocks the body needs to heal itself. DIETARY REGIMEN FOLLOWING THE TREATMENT WITH AM-2 GENERAL RECOMMENDATION TRY TO MAKE AS MUCH EFFORT TO PURCHASE ALL OR MOST OF YOUR FOODSTUFF IN HEALTH FOOD STORES TO MINIMIZE YOUR EXPOSURE TO PESTICIDES, HORMONES, ANTIBIOTICS, AND CHEMICAL ADDITIVES. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT ESPECIALLY IN YOUR CONSUMPTION OF FRESH PRODUCE SINCE FRESH PRODUCE SHOULD BECOME THE MOST SIGNIFICANT PART OF YOUR DIET. DO NOT CONSUME ANY FOOD PRODUCTS CONTAINING ARTIFICIAL COLORS, SWEETENERS OR FLAVORS. STAY AWAY FROM INDUSTRIAL TYPE FOODS INCLUDING CHEMICALLY ALTERED FATS AND MARGARINE. USE ONLY PURE OLIVE AND CANOLA OIL FOR YOUR COOKING NEEDS. IF YOU USE BUTTER, USE ONLY NATURAL ORGANIC BUTTER. JUICING VEGETABLES AND FRUITS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SINCE THE BODY IS BETTER ABLE TO DIGEST SUCH NUTRIENTS. DURING AND AFTER THE AM-2 TREATMENT, THE VEGETABLES AND FRUITS THAT CAN BE JUICED ARE: CARROTS, CELERY, BEETS, CRUCIFEROUS VEGETABLES, LEAFY VEGETABLES, MELONS, PEARS, RIPE PEACHES, APRICOTS, AND NECTARINES. ADDING OTHER NUTRIENTS SUCH AS BARLEY GREEN TO THE JUICE IS ALSO RECOMMENDED. ALWAYS ADD A LITTLE BIT OF OIL (FLAX SEED OIL OR OLIVE OIL) TO YOUR JUICE SINCE SOME VITAMINS ARE ONLY SOLUBLE IN FATS. 1. FIRST MONTH AFTER THE TREATMENT Observe the strict dietary instructions that you were accustomed to during the AM-2 treatment. 2. SECOND MONTH AFTER THE TREATMENT Start gradually adding more fresh produce into your diet. You can also start using slightly more sea salt in your cooking. You should be on a high-fiber, diet for the rest of your life. At this point, make sure your diet includes the following foods: whole grain cereals, brown rice, oats, barley, beans, almonds, fish, and fresh fruits and vegetables (except citrus fruits). 3. THIRD MONTH FOLLOWING THE TREATMENT At this point you can eat all fresh produce, juices and foods. You must stay away from foods that are spicy for several years (until your condition is completely reversed). Also, stay away from vinegar except in very small amounts. As a general rule, do not eat too much red meat, not only because red meat contains a lot of fat, but mainly because it is a significant source of iron, and malignant cells feed on iron (one serving per week should be sufficient). DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS: Intake of dietary supplements should be designed on an individual basis after a proper determination of the patient's needs. Try to introduce a colon cleansing dietary program into your routine. Drink plenty of water each day (at least eight (8) ounce glasses of water each day), eat high-fiber foods (mainly raw fruits and vegetables), and exercise. You may want to purchase a book called " Nutritional Healing " by F. Balch, M.D. and Phyllis A. Balch, C.N.C. This book is an excellent guide to help you heal many conditions with the help of nutrition and dietary supplements. This book also includes an excellent nutritional guide for colon cleansing. Guest guest
Oops---on second thought, I have some real problems with these " prohibited " foods, and probably some questions about other parts of the regimen, including who put the regimen together and how they put it together. Again, I would suggest that when members post something that they do their best to give other members reference points/links/other information to allow them to have some idea of where the member is coming from with regard to the post and the information it contains. There is enough confusion on the net without us further confusing each other on this board. No offense meant--- just trying to get across how it strikes me when I see a post such as this with no explanation whatever about what it is or where it came from. Guest guest
Hi, . If that message titled " AM2 " was a reply to your initial message, (which I cannot find, by the way, at least not anything with AM2 in it), it would have been an excellent idea to have linked the message to your original message so that one could see your original message below it. There is an easy etiquette we can try to follow here so as to make it as easy as possible for us to follow what and why messages are being posted. Thank you for your clarification about AM2. What is the rationale, please, behind prohibiting berries raw garlic and other foods generally considered to be very GOOD for people dx'd with cancer? It's good to be skeptical about any treatment. I am the same way. We certainly don't want to cause harm or waste money on useless therapies. In regards to the list of prohibited foods. It is my understanding that those foods are to be avoided during the first two months of treatment. After that they can be gradually reintroduced back into the diet. I was told that the purpose of the diet is to keep the cell metabolism as even as possible to prevent sudden metabolic changes within the cells while undergoing the therapy. Again, I'd like to add a disclaimer that I am not promoting or recommending this therapy. It is not a cure. I have not had this therapy. It is only something I explored and was considering after my diagnosis. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ We won't tell. Guest guest
dear lisa thanks for your kind response below. i was shocked to find that i consume, on a daily basis, a few of the same ingredients, in one form or the other, as part of my cancer preventive program, eg, ascorbic acid? i thought vitamin c was proscribed for some people since it alledgely initiates cance in certian instances; ribose is a standard supplement used in the world of bodybuilding, i have some in my cabinet; and i take about two grams of beta alanine with my carnosine daily, as it enhances cellular uptake, even though it is not dl-alanine. are you grounded enough in chemistry to know if these substances mentioned above are largely the same as those in the am2 formula? i sure am not. Also, did you have to go to a clinic somewhere distant from home, to receive injections, or could you do it yourself? i just love the fact these are largely naturopathec based chemicals. can you rate the effectiveness of am2 to other protocals? how long, and in what manner, did it work for you? would you highly recommned it over other treatments, and if so, why? again, please answer only if convenient. i went through the website, studied it throughly, and appreciate your insightful comment about many companies being loath to make health claims. i have a web acquaintance in a government halfway house now, after doing a year of hard time, for having made health claims on his website. you can imagine how complicated such things are for me, with my son being a Drug Enforcement Agency SAIC, as in, the enforcers. smile. i am so glad you are alive. and healthy you serve as an inspiration, with your positive attitude, a key component in cellular health, imho. smiles take care andy AM2 --- mommyb@... wrote: > dear lisa if you care to, could you describe the > immunologic response to these natural chemicals? > thanx. smiles. > best to all > andy Hi Andy, My understanding is that it is a immunomodulator. It enhances the body's own immune response and enables the repair of a damaged immune system. It increases NK cells, macrophage cells and it will increase IL-2. Essentially it contains the following five ingredients. Ascorbic Acid, 2-Deoxy-D-Ribose, D-Ribose, Nicotinic Acid and DL-Alanine. It has to be prepared by a compounding pharmacy. It is administered by a slow intravenous injection. The initial dose is 20 treatments over a four week period. The treatment is given 5 days per week with weekends off.
