Guest guest
I have Hodgkin's lymphoma. I was diagnosed on May 29,2006. I thought I had the flu, my doctor thought it might be pnemonia and it turned out to be lymphoma. I never expected to get cancer. starshinespedestal <starshinespedestal@...> wrote: Question; If anyone wants to share... How many have actually watched someone slowly die from cancer? Guest guest
I'll answer your question; I have watched both of my father's parents die of cancer, lung cancer and bone/breast/cervical cancer. I watch my father fight and die from liver cancer. Three of my dad's aunts, four cousins and numerous second cousins have died of cancer in the last two decades. On my moms side we are luckier; I have lost three great aunts and four second cousins (my mom is an only child so I don't have aunt or cousins) My maternal grandmother had intestinal cancer 20 yrs ago but survived, she is 96 and battling dementia. My mother has survived skin cancer. My brother is fighting brain cancer and my sister has survived breast cancer and is now battling cancer caused by the meds they gave her to fight breast cancer. Geneticly I'm screwed.....however I'm sticking to the " 7out of 10 are affected " , someone has to be the three unaffected so I am here to learn and hopefully prevent cancer from taking hold in my body. Or at least know my options when the time comes. In addition to my family I have watched as two close friends lost the battle with cancer. And celebrate with four of my lady friends who are currently living cancer free after their battles with breast cancer. (on paper) I am the guardian of two children whose mother has been a close friend for 22 years, she is fighting thyroid and liver cancer at this time. Hopefully she will win and will raise her children to adulthood. Hope that answers your question, starshinespedestal <starshinespedestal@...> wrote: Question; If anyone wants to share... Guest guest
I watched my husband slowly die in terrible pain from liver cancer in 1999. In 1997, I had breast cancer. I did it all chemo, radiation partial Mastecomy and had been clean for almost 9yrs. This Feb. I was told it had reared it's ugly head again in the bones of my spine.
