Hello-

Since ACOG has made its

recommendations for prenatal screening for Ds for all pregnant women,

(including invasive testing) my local Ds support group thought that it was very

important to provide positive information about Ds so that parents will have

access to it, since most of the information given by doctors (in our area,

anyway) is pretty negative . We also wanted to let area doctors know that

we would be willing to talk to any parents who receive a diagnosis of Ds for

their child….so we sent a packet of information out with a letter to the

doctor (or Woman’s Care Center staff) a copy 2008 calendar from our group

and a copy of Bauer’s article “If The Test Says Down

Syndrome.”
