Guest guest
Hello- Since ACOG has made its recommendations for prenatal screening for Ds for all pregnant women, (including invasive testing) my local Ds support group thought that it was very important to provide positive information about Ds so that parents will have access to it, since most of the information given by doctors (in our area, anyway) is pretty negative . We also wanted to let area doctors know that we would be willing to talk to any parents who receive a diagnosis of Ds for their child….so we sent a packet of information out with a letter to the doctor (or Woman’s Care Center staff) a copy 2008 calendar from our group http://picasaweb.google.com/Michianadownsyndrome/CalendarSnapshots2008 and a copy of Bauer’s article “If The Test Says Down Syndrome.” Here is another article, ”Stand Tall” by Bauer that motivated us to step up our efforts in our community: http://www.patriciaebauer.com/2007/08/23/stand-tall KathyR DSFSAG of Michiana
