[communicating] adopted 2 babies with DS, now lost her son for it

This lady adopted 2 little ones with Down syndrome, and then was sued for

custody of her biological son by his dad. She lost custody in large part

because, as the judge said:

" The evidence adduced at trial establishes that although the mother is a

stay at home mother, she has more than a full plate with her two special needs

toddlers which, without question, redirects an inordinate amount of time away

from the child and his needs. "

I am just completely disturbed by this. It seems that society is sliding towards

making it nearly impossible to respect our children. We dont want them before

birth. And then we find that they so " detract from our families " that

they make our homes unsuitable for their siblings. I am appalled, disgusted,

disturbed, saddened, horrified. I hope you are, too. Please go see this blog

and do what you can, either by offering moral support or a few dollars to help

her get an attorney for an appeal. Her son is MY sons age, and I just cant

imagine. Please share this on your groups, in emails, blogs, etc. We need to

stop this bias.
