Guest guest
Welcome back, granny....yes you surely have been missed......... Di Granny update -- long Thanks to all the poor souls who stated they've missed me. For the newbies, here is my bio: I am Granny and live on Galveston Island with daughter (28, DS) and foster son (33, CP/MR). Am also mother to three other grown children and grandmother to seven. I am a semi-retired newspaper person and am spending my waning years being crusty and sardonic by writing a column on socio-political satire. A couple of weeks after it appears in print, it is posted to my website. http://www.bspyle.com I have been lurking the past few months. Serious problems with my . He came to live with us about seven years ago after a lifetime of physical, mental, emotional, financial and sexual abuse. He has been under psychiatric care for the entire time he has lived with us, but when he went to work for Goodwill, his mental health symptoms increased. Goodwill had to fire him after about eight incidents at work. He is a danger to himself and others. Not and me, and I'd rather not go into who at this time. He is in the process of undergoing some psychometric exams in an effort to determine why he behaves the way he does and whether there is a treatment. The hope has been that when I'm out of the picture, and could continue on in their home with minimum supervision. It would appear this will not be possible because my other children have emphatically stated that, even though they love their sister, there is no way they will assume responsibility for . I have no right to ask them to and it was presumptuous of me to assume they would. The bottom line is, may never be able to hold a job. If I were to drop dead today, and would not only be wrenched away from me, but each other. Other arrangements must be made for ' future that do not include and me. His younger brother, who was a teenager when came to live with us, is now a mature young man and wants his brother to live with him. This is a great relief to me, because the alternatives were not acceptable. Sam, ' brother, is in the process of moving back to Galveston from Los Angeles so he can take over the care of without upsetting his life too much. This is breaking my heart, but I must think of what is best of . Meanwhile, the news about is good. She just finished job trials at Goodwill and will begin work there next week. In spite of all that has happened, she is making the best of it. We will still see now and then; he just won't be living with us. I will try to be more active on the list in spite of all this. Sounds to me like you guys need whipping into line now and then. :^) granny --- " The people can always be brought to do the bidding of the leaders. That is easy.
