Guest guest
This is an excellent idea! I know has a lengthy list which includes background info on the family also. It is pages and pages and very long to print out. Maybe someone could consolidate it into somewhat of a database format for quick reference maybe just listing names of parents, name-age-birthdate of individual(s) with ds in their family. I don't think it would really be necessary to include the names and ages of sibblings. Maybe we could also include the state we live in. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is this too much work? I'm with you, Kerrie, I can't keep everyone straight either! LOL. Jackie, Mom to 14ds, 11, and Bradley
Guest guest
Kerrie, It's a good idea, but that's why I always sign the way I do, including my kids ages and also the state I live in. (Actually I just started doing that after 9/11). Do you know about the signature feature on the tool bar? I created the signature I use and now everytime I send something to , I sign off that way by just clicking on it. Look at the top of where the tool bar is far right there is a pencil and paper. Click on that and develop your own signature. Since someone else wants to know what we do for a living - I'm a teacher, so be kind to us and my husband Ralph is a school bus driver. ~ Mom to 11 DS and 7 NY

Guest guest
This sounds like a great idea for me too. I try hard to remember and place everybody with their kids, but I can not keep em all straight. And then I make little notes all around the computer until my daughter decides to clean and throw away. I am Joyce, my husband is . I have 5 kids. 16, 13, 8, 3 and (Nikki) 7months with DS. One more thingI thought might be interesting is what everybody does for jobs? I do daycare and sale Avon. My husband is a correctional officer in a men's prison. Guest guest
We are Vince and Val Surbey and live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Our kids are listed below with their dx's. They are all adopted. Vince is a retired phys ed teacher and now does managing and dispatching for the National Post. I am a mom and substitute paraprofessional with the school division. I also work with adults and their families in terms of substitute decision makers. We are involved with several disability groups and a new one called Neuro-net. We have 6 older children who have grown and moved away. We have 10 grandchildren and one son who died at birth in January of 1987. His name is Tyler. Vince and Val (known as valvin) from Winnipeg Dad & Mom of 14, (ARND, ADHD, RAD, OCD, ODD, possible Bi-polar), Tim, 11 (DS), , 11 (ARND, ADHD, Microcephalic, Submucous cleft palate, " Tigger " syndrome), Preston, 10 (FAS, FDE, FSS, ADHD) This sounds like a great idea for me too. Groups : you would have to download it into your processor like MSWord or Works. I used this for years to develop Sara's IEP's, it has everything listed by chronological ages......stops I think at age 7. Here all kindergartners are tested using the Brigance before school starts, it gives teachers an idea where these kids (NDA) are at. I also have the link to IEP4u objectives Traci and I searched and searched for it online since this site moved lol and I KNOW I will need it for ideas this year. Now if you haven't seen what an IEP looks like go to your state page and see if they have one online. TN has all forms and instructions in fact the form changed 2 years ago and I had the correct form before the school did lolol Remember the Communication Notebook for Kindy, I can send you a sample of Sara's that we used. It can be downloaded in word or works and then edited for your child and schedule. The school never objected to our communication sheet since I had it all ready in a notebook and it was easy to use. Oooh also go to LDonline...lots of neat developmental stuff there for Kindy's. On my other puter I have a BC website that I used for years.....as soon as I switch back over Ill send that site. Wait I think I have a whole sheet of sites that were useful on other puter, I always make a sheet of websites for the teachers too Oh well holler if you need any help, Kindy was the most prepared IEP meeting I ever went to, heehee I blew them away lol Kathy mom to Sara 10.....TN.......thanks Joy

Guest guest
It helps if people put their kids names or ages after their own name at the end of each email...that's how I keep everyone straight. It is also easier to see where someone is coming from (experience, etc) if you can see how old their child with DS is. Just my opinion, Kym...Proud Mom to 4, including 4 1/2 year old with DS ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
