We were thinking about moving to Savannah so that we would both be closer to

work. I work there now and will probably teach there when he retires

from the Army next year. I asked the speech pathologist at our school (who

floats around the county) what I could expect from the high school programs.

She said that because has a 53 IQ and is considered moderately

retarded, he would be placed in a moderate class and have VERY limited

academics with voc. ed. in a sheltered workshop most of the day. WHOOPEE I

thought. Of course, I want this limited, insulting, stupid, lame, and

endless expletives program for my son. I told her that this kind of program

was NOT for my . She acted like I was an idiot and stated " What will

he need with academics anyway? " I nearly lost it and I can't afford to do

that at work. GEEZ, some people.
