IQ Evaluations

Hello everyone,

The IQ evaluations are interesting but we don't hold much faith in them as true

determiners of our kids's abilities. We always tell them at the IEP meetings

that they do things at home they don't do at school and on a test. The thing

is, however, none of our kids are going to have the IQ of a genius and it really

isn't worth getting uptight about. Every little thing they accomplish in life

is important, more important than some numbers on some standardized test--as a

person with teaching experience and parent of four kids with special needs I

don't care for standardized tests--the portfolio system works better, but these

tests have been around for a century or more and they probably will stay.

PS: , Kristi, and brought home really good grade cards for second

quarter last week, mostly A's and B's with a C+ or two.
