Guest guest
--2 1/2 weeks early -- 2 weeks early -- 1 week late I worked up until they were born for and I took off two weeks before was born. My doctor told me that women who work right up to their due date have babies earlier, true in my case. Also, folk lore has it that births cluster around full moon and new moon days. Mine did this too. in Kentucky
Guest guest
Don't know about moons, but mine were all born on rainy or snowy evenings/nights. I also worked part-time up close to Jessie's date, but none of the others. Guest guest
LOL, . I was induced, and labor for me was over 30 hours. I wish it was over quickly. I just wouldn't dialate. After they gave me the eipidural, though, I went from 4 to 10 in less than 4 hours. I was having contractions every 30-60 seconds for 19 hours! Guest guest
My Ian was born 23 days before his due date (though I'd gone into labor " two days " before then -- I put that in quotes, because it was really 27 hours, but it spanned the two days). Guest guest
- water broke at home 1 week early, lots of contractions and walking without dialation, ended up on Pitocin after 16 hours of nothing but hard work. Should have taken the Pit and epidural earlier on this one. - induced on due date... they thought she'd be big since my first was 8lbs,10oz at a week early; was 7lbs,14oz.... so much for another round of Pitocin for that " big " baby. Purple, floppy, black mohawk hairdo.... quite a sight (and that was before we knew about the DS!) - one day late (though by the third, I was READY!!!!), weighing in at 9lbs, 9 oz.. Since I had never really started labor on my own and didn't know exactly how bad " normal " contractions were, I did some grocery shopping before going to the hospital (didn't want the kids to starve while I was gone!), ended up showing up at the hospital at 9 cm. Made for some exciting times, but the quickest delivery of the bunch! Hope Jellybean shows up soon, with a quick delivery! Good luck. Guest guest
My daughter Margaret was born on the last day of my due date (Oct 15 - 22). The drs. thought she was physically retarded. At 8 lbs. 2oz and 22 inches long, she really fooled the drs. Contractions started at 9pm and emergency C was at 11am. Jordan (w/ds) was born two days early. Water broke at 3pm, 0 dilation at 11pm, meds at 12am born at 1pm vbac.
Guest guest
baby # 1, girl, 2 1/2 weeks early baby # 2, boy, DS, 3 weeks early baby # 3, girl, 4 days late baby # 4, girl, 10 days early baby #5, boy, DS, 4 weeks early " Facts " & old wives talesI have read/heard: Mothers who work and are on their feet a lot tend to deliver early. Babies with DS are slightly more prone to come early. The mother carries boys in front and girls across the hips. The mother carries boys high and girls low. .... Guest guest
The old wife's tales didn't apply to me. So many customers told me I was having a boy ( I was carrying out in front) that I started to believe them. When the dr. said " it's a girl " ....I didn't believe him for a minute. I was on my feet all day long, too. I was induced when I was 15 days past my due date. Laid there for 2 days before I had her. aarrgghh If I had only knew her stubborness was going to continue all through her life...I might have thrown in the towel..... Guest guest
Kate was 3.5 weeks late (yikes!) and induced, born by c-section. Karrie was induced at 37 weeks, vaginal delivery (67 hours, double yikes). Hope you have better luck than I did!!!! And I hope you get your luck and your Jellybean soon!!!!! Guest guest
I was induced for my four...so mine doesn't count. My oldest dd was a week late, oldest son a week early and the last two (girl-boy) on their due date. The good thing about inductions is that labor is short. First was 4 hrs, second one was 3, third one was 1 hour and the last one was 5 (he was the biggest--weighing in at 9+ lbs--not bad for a baby with DS!!) Leis, what is the baby's heartrate? Usually 145+ is a girl and anything lower is usually a boy.
Guest guest
The good thing about inductions is that labor is short. With Karrie, that didn't hold true! I was 67 hours from the time the Pit drip started until she delivered. We knew she had ds and the doctor wanted me to have her vaginally...less complications for me, he said. We both held up well for almost all of the labor...but Karrie had to be resusitated (sp) at birth and I was absolutely exhausted.
