But..... there are times when the hoops they make you jump through cause alot of delay and if you'd really like to know, there are times when I've come close to deciding it'd be easier to pay for it myself rather then screw around for another 4, 6, 12 months. In fact we did go with private ST which ins. and MA (we had it at that time) paid for because I was so sick of the piddling around going on at school. I would think that in the mean time the parent can persue the schools paying for the staff needed and seek reimbursment. I think the biggest question would be, if you pay for an assistant yourself do you get to say who it is? (sometimes that might be a good thing, hehe) Joy

Now isn't THAT a scary idea?

I checked with the chief financial officer at the school distirct and asked where the funds come form to pay for the aid, the funds are federal, so the district cannot tell me it's not in their budget! Maybe somehow you could check and see how the aid would be funded. Do you know someone in your district who has an aid? Maybe they know ablut the funding or could find out. sissy __________________________________________________
