Feedback on Back to School Guide

Last month, instead of the regular newsletter, I sent out a link to our

Back to School Guide for Special Needs Families. I thought you would appreciate

hearing the great response this guide received, particulary from professionals.

Educators and therapists made a point to thank me for what many called an

" awesome list of resources. " They made sure to pass it on to others at their

schools and therapy facilities. Even an undergraduate emailed to say she was

going to pass this on to her fellow students going into the education field. The

lesson here is that educators are starved for information on disabilities.

Please take the time to send your teachers links about your child's disability

and teaching strategies. They really appreciate it!

App of the month: iTubeList

You'll find your own uses for this one but here's why I love it. Getting

my computer loving son to exercise was always a chore. Now he looks forward to

it because of iTubeList. It's a free YouTube playlist finder. Simply enter a

search (e.g. Phineas and Ferb) and you can save playlists that exist on YouTube.

Our iPad simply rests on top of the treadmill.

I have the entire play lists for Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and more at

my fingertips. Great for parents too! My son's physical therapist was

downloading cartoon episodes on her iPhone for her clients but this makes it so

much easier and it's free. Great motivator for treadmill and stationery bicycle

work. Visit our app list!

The normal are outnumbered!

There's normal and then there's everybody else. Guess what? The normal are

outnumbered!

Wear our new design showing that the majority of the bell curve is

comprised of everybody else. Our Normal bell curve, shirts, sweatshirts,

stickers, framed pictures and mugs are great gifts for those who are proud of

their individuality.

Find these and other products that highlight qualities and personality

rather than disability labels at our Awareness with Attitude CafePress page.
