Another SSI question

's other PSW is here & we were having a discussion on SSI & lunches out.

now has SSDI. Is he allowed to take her out once in a while for lunch with

his money?

Also, her hubby is on disability. She said they are being docked in his

disability because they own a house. I thought that the SSA doesn't count your

house or vehicle..

If 18 years old & older, SSI does not count:

- the home you live in

- one car

- less than $2000 in total assets.

 

If less than 18 years old, SSI does not count

- parent's qualified retirement accounts - all other income & assets are

" deemed " to the child

 

SSDI does not count ANY assets.
