Guest guest
To add to Ellen/Charlotte’s earlier post, this from Kim Zoeller at Ray Graham Association. Interesting and hopeful news! STATEMENT ON CLOSURE FROM MICHAEL GELDER - One of the Governor's top assistants, Gelder, made the following statement in response to the Governor's commitment to close SODCs in the event ville and Mabley are " saved " by legislative action: " We are seeking reallocation of appropriations within the overall House-passed cap. Some of these funds could be used to support institutional costs for facilities through FY 12 for which because there is no safe way to close them this fiscal year. But the governor is committed to the closing of at least four SODCs in the next 2.5 years and has shared this with the GA appropriation committees today. Closure efforts will begin in December with assessments and community care plans of residents and stopping intake at the first facility. We have agreed to work with the GA to identify and prioritize the four SODCs to avoid the arguments raised at the CGFA hearings. "
