Guest guest
What kinds of materials should families maintain, from early childhood through transition to be able to prove need for SSI when the individual applies at the age of 18. A close friend is trying to get SSI for her 55 year old brother, and that trail of paperwork is dried up. This all may be smoother for the next generation, parents of younger kids, if they are told by school personal from early childhood, what kinds of records/materials to keep. When families are originally linked with services perhaps that is when they should be prepared.
