Arc Comments on Ligas Implementation Plan

Read The Arc's comments on one of the most important

disability lawsuits in Illinois history. Is this email not displaying

Dear Ellen,

The Ligas Consent Decree is going to have major positive

implications for the Illinois Disability Service System for years to come.

a.. 3,000 individuals will move off the Illinois

Waiting list in the next six years. In the next 19 months, 1,000 people will

move!

b.. Any of the 6,000 individuals in an ICFDD, over a

six year period, will be able to transition into the most integrated

community-based setting of their choice!

c.. The Illinois Disability System will expand by

about 30%!

d.. The court has ruled that this decree must be

funded regardless of what our friends in the Capitol say!

The Arc has submitted its comments on the Draft Ligas

Implementation Plan which will determine the face of disability services for the

next nine years. Read our comments about the choice of community services, best

practice, individual budgets, outreach to minorities and more by going to this
