Webcast Dec 14, 2011, 2-3:00 p.m. CST, Featuring Wildwood ProgramsIf anyone from

IPADD signs up for this free webinar, please report back to the group what is

learned. I looked on their website but could find no specific information about

their employment approach for clients with autism. Still, it sounds interesting

& I’d like to know more. Always learning! Thanks.

About the Webcast

Employment rates for people with disabilities are declining: people

with ASD are among the least likely to be employed. In fact, only 15 percent of

working aged adults with ASD are currently employed (Cameto et al, 2003).

Effective interventions are clearly needed to improve employment rates for this

population. SEDL and partners on the National Advisory Panel of the Vocational

Rehabilitation Service Models for Individuals with ASD project have implemented

a rigorous process for identifying programs that help increase competitive,

long-term employment for people with ASD.

Wildwood Programs was designated as an effective program in the

summer of 2011. Located in Latham, New York, this program serves people with ASD

needing employment-related supports. Wildwood Programs works collaboratively

with individuals, families and businesses to increase individuals' independence

and integration into the community. To hear more about Wildwood Program's

replicable employment services please register for this free webcast.

About the Presenter

Muchmore, Director of Employment Services at Wildwood

Programs, has ten years of experience in vocational rehabilitation. He

originally entered the field as an Employment Specialist with a not-for-profit

agency in Pennsylvania that exclusively provided employment services to

individuals with a variety of disabilities. Currently based in the Albany, New

York area, Mr. Muchmore oversees a team of 19 staff whose mission is to " provide

businesses with competent employees and give individuals with disABILITIES an

opportunity to thrive in the workplace. " Mr. Muchmore has been an active member

of the New York State Association for Persons in Supported Employment Board for

the last four years, advocating for the improvement of integrated employment

outcomes for workers with disabilities as well as the design of systemic

enhancements that can further that goal.
