NAMI thinks autism is a mental illness?

Autism Spectrum, but no other developmental disability, is on National Alliance

on Mental Illness website.

I just saw a news article about a young man ID'ed as Aspergers whose parents

were involved in NAMI, and the reporter referred to the young man as mentally

ill.

What do folks think about this?  What does ARC & other orgs for DD think about

this?
