He himself is the father of an 8-year old boy with autism, and his entire career has been devoted to estate planning law. He now focuses on estate planning for special needs families. Main Street Crystal Lake, IL 60014 Tom is an estate planning law attorney, a graduate from Purdue University and IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, and a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council and the Chicago Bar Association. His entire career has been focused on the field of estate planning, guardianships, and trust administration, giving an in-depth knowledge and understanding of trust and estate law solutions. Prior to starting his own estate planning law practice, he spent 15 years administering trusts and estates for three of Chicago's largest trust departments. During this time, he represented clients with net worths ranging from $50,000 to $50,000,000. Along with his wife, Molly, Tom is a lifelong resident of Oak Park. They have been together for over 21 years and have an eight-year old son, Jack, who has autism. They are active in the Autism community and are members of various local and national organizations supporting special needs children. Being a parent of a child with autism gives him an appreciation and understanding of children with special needs. Tom's experience, both personal and professional, enables him to ask the right questions, make practical recommendations and provide effective solutions for each client's estate planning and trust administration needs.The first half of Tom's presentation will focus on general estate planning (wills and trusts) that applies to all adults. The focus of the second half of the presentation will be planning for special needs children. Trusts and guardianship will specifically be discussed.
