It depends on your child's disability, how it manifests, and what his needs

are. Why don't you call them and ask for a tour? If they refuse, don't

send your child there.

Transparency is crucial in a therapeutic setting. If they will not let you

in, you must wonder why.

Their a school called beacon therapy day school I know the teacher over their

she my son respite worker and she fantastic I think she work out of the culumet

school she teach hs kids

My son in middle school you might like to also check w nssed the have a

Ed bd classroom thu north shore academy in hp if your in the illinois

You might also check w the Jocelyn center in north filed they might have some

ideal even try glenkirk and little city

You can go on the ISBE website to look for non-public settings. There is link

on there. It is called the burg Project. When I was looking for an

alternative place for two of my children I went on this site. You can call and

ask for tours.

If they don't allow you to tour the school, that is one BIG huge red flag.

Schools should have an open door policy. Good luck, I hope you find a placement

that meets your child's needs. Take your time and look carefully at each

school. Talk and watch the students.

When our son was placed out of cps. We were able to tour the schools. We were

able to see classrooms and meet the staff. We made sure that it would be a good

fit for our son. We had several meetings with the school. I am happy to say that

our son is doing very well.
