Guest guest
Thanks for all the info. If anyone has a form they use for the financial accountings I would like to see that. We do have a template for the annual report. Like everything else we did in the the crisis after my Mom died we were given poor advice about guardianship stuff so we made some expensive mistakes. We do have an attorney but down the road we need to save money and do things on our own when we can. This is why I am soliciting advice from the group. We have a tough judge now. We will not be able to afford many more attorney bills. Thanks Ellen for the website. Nora
Guest guest
As other posts have indicated, the level of detail varies by county. DuPage has two pages. Page 1 ends with: cash on hand beginning of accounting period cash receipts cash disbursements cash on hand ending of accounting period Above all that are sections, " cash receipts " and " cash disbursements, recapitulation " , and for each there are 3 columns for date, description and amount. There is scarcely any room in either section to write anything. I write " see attachment " and give them an attachment for income and for disbursements, with totals at the bottom. For disbursements, I summarize each medical professional ( " Psychologist, 20 visits " ) instead of listing each visit. I do not list the stores, but note things like shoes and clothes. Page 2 is " inventory " of significant property, which is generally not hard to do. Accounting is not my strength, but entering Neal's income and expenses into Quicken, including category notes with each entry makes this easier. What's harder is to estimate cash spending, since you don't always get a receipt. -Gail ________________________________ From: Nora <Handler55@...> ipaddunite Sent: Thursday, November 24, 2011 10:16 AM Subject: guardianship thanks Thanks for all the info. Guest guest
The Guardianship of the Person " Annual Report " is NOT an " Accounting " since no money (assets/estate) is subject to court. Only if there is a Guardianship of the Estate is there an Accounting required. SSI/SSDI does not require or necessitate a Guardianship of the Estate (in most Counties in Illinois). _____________________________________________________ Rubin* [cid:image003.jpg@...] * Member by invitation of SNA, the Special Needs Alliance.
