Do you have a business, microenterprise, or non-profit? If so, we want to talk to you! A research project at the University of Illinois at Chicago is interested in interviewing you about your experiences in social entrepreneurship. Who? You can participate if you: - have an intellectual disability - live in the Chicagoland area - are between the ages of 18 and 64 - are self employed, have a business or non-profit What? A social entrepreneur is someone who is self-employed and has started or tried to start a business, microenterprise, or non-profit with the goal of making a social problem better. The goal of the interview is to better understand your experience in social entrepreneurship. We will learn why you became a social entrepreneur, how you run and manage your business, and what supports help you. Where and When? Interviews will be held in Chicago this October. You will be able to choose the date and place that works best for you. There will be two interviews. Each interview will last one hour. Why? This research is part of a project looking a social entrepreneurship as a pathway to employment for people with disabilities in Chicago . As part of our research, we are particularly interested in including the voices of social entrepreneurs with intellectual disabilities.
