Guest guest
Hi Ed & welcome! Illinois is a big state. Where does your half-sister live, and how far from there are you willing to travel for evaluations? What abilities would you like to have evaluated? Does she receive Social Security money? Medicaid? Has she ever been in a respite program or had a job coach? If so, what was the name of the organization? In what district did she attend high school and do her transition program? Can you locate any paperwork from the district around her age 20-21, and what were they doing then? -Gail ________________________________ From: ed.zaretsky <ed.zaretsky@...> IPADDUnite Sent: Wednesday, August 31, 2011 11:13 AM Subject: New to This Journey  Happy Wednesday. I am a new member of this group. I have recently re connected with some family that includes a DD half sister (26 yrs old) who is great at communicating in general, in good health, but has a very very low ability to read, count money, etc. I am looking to help get a fresh/current assessment of her true abilities and interest. There is a need to find her a new home as her elderly father is running low on time and $. Please..................if you any service providers to focus in this area or, parent support groups, that would be grand. Thanks. Ed Zaretsky z45chicago@...
