The Support Services Team program was indeed expanded in May to include

children. To access this program, you need to go through your PAS agency, which

may request the network to authorize it. The program for adults began last

August and my experience with it was excellent. The teams—there are six of

them around the state—respond immediately, go out and interview the individual

and caregivers, and work to determine the best approaches to dealing with

whatever behavioral or medical challenge is present.

Subject: further information for anyone looking for behavioral

intervention...

Sorry...I could not get the tables to print out...

Below (after the table) is the link to the SST's. The acronym SST means Service

Support Teams. These are the behavioral intervention teams that handle

challenging behaviors for people with developmental disabilities is community

services. Home Based Support Services programs are included in this. However,

upon its inception, children were not included. Children are to be included in

the second phase of this program. I'm just not sure when that second phase

begins. I believe that the SST program has been in existence for about a year.

So this may be helpful. If not, I think that behavioral services would be

covered under the waiver as a form of therapy. But a quick check of the manual

suggests that it is not covered under the waiver.

This link explains the SST program.
