We continue working hard to develop innovative and meaningful programming for our families, and are proud to share our achievements with you: a.. Our CN Demonstration School opened January 18, 2011 to rave reviews from School Districts and our families. Northbrook District 27 states that Turning Pointe is their " go-to " school of choice for severely impacted children. b.. We expanded our Board of Directors to include 17 successful business leaders, our Advisory Committee to 12 experts in their field, and engaged 10 committees with over 50 members to guide the work of the organization. c.. We announced the development of our educational, vocational and recreation programs in the former Naperville Sun Building as our North Campus, saving millions of dollars in capital costs. d.. Walgreens selected Turning Pointe's Career Development Program to pilot its first-ever " Walgreens College " training concept for its retail stores, and committed to building a mock training environment at our North Campus in the Fall of 2011. e.. Dr. Emmett, nationally-renowned expert who pioneered the development of Walgreens' Disability Inclusion program, selected Turning Pointe as his exclusive organization to work with to develop our Career Development Program. " I get five organizations a week that contact me to work with them " , says Dr. Emmett. " I've chosen Turning Pointe because of their solid business approach and innovative plan for raising the bar in employment services for the disabled. " f.. We have engaged with local community organizations and service providers to open an after-school recreation and fitness program at the North Campus in the Fall of 2011. g.. A major community partner is soon to announce significant funding for constructing an addition to the North Campus for our Special Needs Community Center - the first of its kind in the United States. h.. We are finalizing plans and will be announcing the acceptance of reservations for our residential community at our South Campus in the Fall of 2011. i.. Besides solidifying relationships with the Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks and Bobby Rahal, we've been selected as the beneficiary for four community golf outings: CBS 670 SCORE Radio and Dan McNeil Outing, Downers Grove Firefighters and Police United for Autism, Wheatland Township Republican Organization Annual Golf Outing, and the Holy Spirit Golf Tournament for Autism.
