Dear Ellen, I have been on the road the last two days and have great information I want to share with you regarding opportunities with the Ligas Consent Decree. Yesterday, we had about 80 advocates attend our " Health Care Reform Update for Children with Special Health Care Needs. " Lots of good information there as well. More to come later.... Help spread the word about our new Austim resource. Tony Having trouble viewing this email? View it in your browser. Help Spread the Word about an Amazing New Autism Resource As a Chapter of The Arc, you are in the perfect position to help spread the word about new resources available to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through a grant from the Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD), The Arc has created a national resource and information center called Autism NOW for people who identify as having an autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disability. Shortly, you will receive a package from The Arc with promotional materials to help you tell your community about Autism NOW. These materials include posters, brochures and magnets you can distribute. Also, there are digital resources available to you with facts about Autism NOW and what it does, sample promotional copy to cut-and-paste into your newsletters, send out via email or post on your Website and other resources. These can be found in the For Chapters section of www.thearc.org under Chapter Resources. YOU WILL NEED TO BE LOGGED IN TO ACCESS. Guest guest
Hi Thais: The Ligas Consent Decree has a provision to move 3,000 individuals off the waiting list...it may be a drop in the bucket, but, it does represent an opportunity for others, besides those residing in ICFs. Guest guest
Hi Ellen, Do individuals have to complete and submit the form, " Request for Community Based Services or Placement in a Community Based Setting " to IDHS-DD division in order to possibly be selected off the waiting list?
