thank you for sharing this information. And how fiscally wise of the

government to come up with the one card idea. These slips of paper are

not really hardy enough to withstand much use.

Everyone will have a card (similar to the look of a driver's license). This will

save the state a lot of money for postage...etc.....

Hi Sherri, we got our card today. A card sounds like a wonderful idea. Shirley

Has anyone else NOT received their child's Medicaid card for the month of

June?  My son has private and Medicaid so I have not received anything about

the managed care package.

Does anyone have a phone # for Medicaid where you can actually talk to a human

being about not receiving a card?

We received our daughter's card well over a week ago.so not all cards were

delayed.funny how the ONLY thing she can receive from the State is her

Medicaid slip.but no other services! What Rocket Scientist figured out a

card rather than a slip? And, REALLY??? why is it going to be 2012?

Unbelievable.

Is it like a credit card with a band that the doctor's office swipes? If so,it

will also save them alot of money and time and get reimbursed faster. They

started using that in France about 10 years ago it was great not filling out

claim forms anymore.

In healthcare anyways, they have a long long way to go in special needs

education. No matter where you live parents have to keep advocating.

The issue is/was:

- some individuals are only eligible certain months of the year (spend-down or

cancelled case) so Medicaid only wanted to send a slip to people who were

eligible for that month.

- I asked about this & was told that: " having a Medicaid card does not guarantee

eligibility for any time period. The provider still needs to verify

eligibility. "

IS THIS PROGRESS????????

I finally received my son's on June 4th.    Do we know for sure if and when they

will switch to a card format rather than the paper?
