Guest guest
What Would these Changes Mean for People with Disabilities? > > > > > There would be no guarantee of services. People with disabilities could be denied: > > a.. health insurance coverage > b.. home and community based services > c.. supportive housing > d.. job training > e.. education > f.. transportation > g.. and much, much more I'm not sure how this is a " change " as there are no guarantees for services NOW. People are already being denied services. Yes, I know it's going to get worse, so THAT is a change. Anyway, that said, I stopped in today, at the office I work for & noticed that our new rep is right across the street. (He's the one I'm to meet with in May. I went over to the office to see if I could get my appt changed to April 18th, but nobody was in the office Figured since it was about 11, somebody would be there. Hope to call tomorrow. Guest guest
I just left a message with my Rep, Congresswoman Judy Biggert. Her aide, nice gentleman, indicated he had not recieved many calls yet, but he assumes more will come when the budget is debated. He says there are some pro- calls. and he assumes there will be some con- calls. Biggert's district has a large number of students with disabilities. I am so tired of making these calls, but I am thinking with the drastic cuts in this proposal, we all should be doing it. I have also encountered some rude assistants on the other end. For people in Biggert's district, the man I talked with was very polite. Cindi
Guest guest
Just called my Rep's office. He's IN SUPPORT of " the general idea) but would have to wait to see what if any changes are made before the vote. I let the guy know that I " m against it & also emailed a friend of mine who has the same rep. Liz
